At the front of the building, you will see the glistening ‘Paphos Mosaic Map’ designed and built by children aged 4-9 under the guidance of leading mosaic artists, Sharen Taylor and Mary Chojnowski. Also, a very large mural (you cannot miss it) designed and created by street artist, Anatolios Spyrlides, also known as ‘Royal Venom‘. As you walk through the Secret Garden, you will also find a small room called ‘Interlandia’ housed in the outbuilding at the back. It is named after the large wooden boat structure designed by local Cypriot artist, Zenon and made entirely from oceanic debris.

‘Featuring 40+ Artists in Cyprus’

A selection of leading and emerging artists showcase their artworks at Chakra Art Gallery. Glass artists include Andreas Tziamalis, Yorgos Papadopoulos and Andrea Charalambides, while also featured is Cyprus’ leading bronze sculptor, Philippos Yiapanis, and other sculptors including Julie Hart. A selection of beautiful mosaic artworks are also on display by the Limassol mosaic artist, Svetlana McCluskey.

Amongst a whole array of interesting art styles, there is also a unique range of interior design paintings by artists such as Louis Stavros Yiannapis, Joanna Lapuszek, Rachel Ryan, Janine Saaf, PAZ, Mary Markides and Gabi Boehm.

‘Cultural Events & More’

Since the big launch party, Chakra Art Gallery has hosted a range of events including a student art exhibition by The International School of Paphos for their 30th birthday celebrations, a charity art exhibition in collaboration with Caritas Cyprus and St Paul’s Catholic Parish in Paphos and independent art exhibitions with various local artists.

A rich variety of workshops and events have also taken place at this beautiful space to include a poetry recital by artist, Kate Fensom, mosaic workshops and courses by the accredited Sharen Taylor of Ibrahim’s Khan. We have also seen Kundalini yoga, chakradance, aromatherapy and sound bath meditation workshops, hosted by the qualified yoga therapist, Roxana Tismanaru at Yoga o’clock.

Chakra Art Gallery enjoys being involved with new projects and also assisted with the workload of The Space Art for Charity National Art Exhibition, led by Sarah Coyne in 2018. Chakra also hosted a charity classical music event for the Bach Birthday Festival, put on by Graham Brown of the Paphos Kidney Association and Andrew Oliver of the Paphos Music Lovers Association.

They have arranged cultural road trips to Mikri Salamina Sculpture Park in Limassol in support of Philippos Yiapanis and hold regular live music events which have included performances by world-class musician Chris Andre, local musician Rhys Taylor and more.

Recently, a fantastic Cuban-themed evening was arranged at the gallery with Pre Wedding Events Cyprus and included a live guitar performance followed by a lively evening salsa set by one of the best salsa DJs in Paphos, DJ Aphrodite. Leading Cypriot salsa dancer, Georgios Pillas, was also present and the dancing continued throughout the night.

With every event held, the vibe is so different.

Chakra Art Gallery is a cultural space designed to support local artists living in Cyprus. Systems have been implemented for strategic business collaborations and the venue is available to hire for private events at very affordable rates.
