THE MAKERS SPACE

Ceramics & Workshops, Paphos

Tucked away in the hills of Tala, near the Agios Neophytos Monastery, lies The Makers Space – a new concept. It is a membership-based studio and art gallery that provides shared facilities for artists and ceramicists who are resident or visiting Cyprus. Their official opening reception took place in September 2019 and was presided over by the Bishop of Chytron Leontios, (Abbot of Saint Neophytos Monastery).

The main aim is to provide a communal and sociable space for those who wish to experience the joy and satisfaction of creating by hand.

Their fully equipped ceramic studio offers shared workspaces, storage facilities, a range of communal equipment and technical support. They encourage personal growth, within an active maker community, whilst also providing a space for learning and development. They will offer a range of courses across all mediums, suitable for the curious beginner to those wishing to focus on more intermediate and advanced techniques.

Their art gallery is a beautiful stone building offering 150m² of space, 8m high walls and various lighting options. The space will host regular art exhibitions, quarterly Makers Markets and a venue for creating and teaching in other mediums.

The Makers Space offers several membership options that cater for full time artists, serious hobbyists or enthusiastic beginners. If you are an artist or a ceramicist looking for an affordable studio space in which to work, teach or learn in a collaborative, supportive and community-based environment, then The Makers Space might be right for you.
